What are final expense commission rates by carrier?

Short answer

Street level final expense contracts usually pay about 80% to 130% of first year premium, depending on the carrier and your level. Agents posted these in 2025: Mutual of Omaha around 120%, Transamerica 117.5% to 130%, CICA 115% to 125% on standard plans. New agents often start lower.

Guaranteed issue plans pay much less, often 65% to 75% at the same carrier.

Your contract level comes from your upline or IMO, so the same carrier can pay two agents very different rates.

These numbers come from agents on Insurance Forums, not carrier schedules. Confirm with your upline before you count on them.
